hyperspace vision
I want hyperspace to be a place where you can not only create dynamic online experiences, but also a place that accrues value back to creators.
So, while I want all of these features:
- Ability to query pages with CSS to return JSON, turning each page into a mini database
- Ability to group pages into a single site that can share data across itself
- Ability to publish a page automatically from your local machine, giving you the power to use your own text editor setup
- Ability to run a page locally as a personal application, maintaining privacy and increasing performance
- Ability to sync parts of a page across versions of itself, so real-time collaboration becomes possible
I will lean into the following features, so people can extract as much value from their creativity as possible:
- Ability to host pages on a custom domain
- Ability to charge for access to certain pages, 90% of which you keep
- Ability to password protect pages
When people are able to use hyperspace as a regular hosting platform and CMS, then I can focus on more experimental features which will push the platform forward.
But first, I need to make sure hyperspace returns more value to its creators than it extracts.
